What They Do
American Jewish World Service (AJWS) strives to end poverty and promote human rights in the developing world. It provides over $35 million annually to more than 500 social justice organizations in 19 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. At the same time, the organization advocates for laws and policies in the US that will improve the lives of millions of people around the world. One of AJWS’s major efforts is working to end early and child marriage by bringing girls and young women together to define their own futures.
What We Love
AJWS has a proven track record of investing in dedicated, successful community leaders and organizations to make social change. It creates a supportive environment for that change through effective international advocacy. And the team possesses a great combination of relentlessness in their pursuit of justice, humility in their quest for improvement, and laser-sharp focus in identifying game-changing strategies.
