What They Do
Green Built Alliance has a 20-year history of advancing sustainability in the built environment through community education, measurable standards and regional action. The nonprofit is making a difference in Western North Carolina and beyond by certifying green residential construction through Green Built Homes; making energy-efficiency and renewable-energy upgrades to local schools and nonprofits through Appalachian Offsets; managing the Blue Horizons Project community clean-energy campaign; weatherizing low-income homes through Energy Savers Network; and educating the public through sustainability-focused classes and the annual Green Building Directory magazine
What We Love
Green Built Alliance recognizes that in order for green building to be truly sustainable for any of us, it must be accessible and equitable for all of us. As an anti-racist organization, they are committed to increasing inclusion, equity and justice.
