What They Do

Girls Not Brides is a global partnership of more than 1600 civil society organizations in over 100 countries worldwide working to address child marriage. Members are united by a commitment to end child marriage and enable girls to fulfill their potential.

Girls Not Brides aims to raise awareness of the harmful impact of child marriage by encouraging open, inclusive, and informed discussion at the community, local, national, and international levels. It also facilitates learning and coordination between organizations, and mobilizes all necessary policy, financial, and other support to end child marriage.

What We Love

Working with The Elders, an independent group of global leaders who work together for peace and human rights, Girls Not Brides has dramatically increased the visibility of early and child marriage worldwide. The organization is genuinely committed to pushing a robust “what works” learning agenda and to marshaling resources on behalf of its members. Girls Not Brides operates with lean efficiency, ensuring donor funds are put to best use. We believe this organization is critical to accelerating learning and action on this issue.
