What They Do
International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) advances the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and young people, particularly adolescent girls, in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. IWHC furthers this agenda by supporting and strengthening leaders and organizations working at the community, national, regional, and global levels, and by advocating for international and US policies, programs, and funding.
What We Love
IWHC works with groups that are experienced in tackling the connection between restrictive definitions of sexuality and issues like early and child marriage. Unless societies are willing to examine values around sexuality, changes to norms surrounding early and child marriage are likely to be minimal. IWHC is willing and able to bridge that gap—and therefore change the conversation.
