What They Do
For more than 50 years, Montana Wilderness Association has been working with communities across the state to protect Montana’s wilderness heritage, quiet beauty, and outdoor traditions.
What We Love
The Montana Wilderness Association works directly with communities to find common ground between diverse interests in order to build long-term support for wildlands protection and the economies those lands sustain. In 2013, MWA opened an office in the old logging town of Libby, in northwest Montana. Since then, they’ve worked with many local leaders and stakeholders to develop a common vision for Libby’s future- one that includes protection of critical wildlands and sustainable economic development.
