What They Do
Western Native Voice works to develop the civic leadership capacity of Native American communities. Knowledgeable, dynamic citizen leaders enable communities to find real solutions to their problems and implement them in a practical way. Indian communities in Montana continue to produce gifted leaders in a range of occupations from business to government service. Western Native Voice seeks to build upon this accomplishment, both to expand the opportunities for, and skills of, existing leaders and to foster emerging and potential youth leaders. The organization also empowers the Native American community through voter registration and education on Montana’s ten Native American Reservations, where voter numbers have historically been very low.
What We Love
Western Native Voice is helping Native Americans find and use their voices—and their votes—in order to improve the everyday lives of Native Americans and their communities. Building engagement and power among Montana’s underrepresented communities will make Montana a better place to live for all its residents.
