What They Do
Founded in 1981 by Robert Redford, Sundance Institute provides and preserves the space for artists in film, theatre, and new media to create and thrive. The Institute’s signature Labs, granting, and mentorship programs, dedicated to developing new work, take place throughout the year in the U.S. and internationally. The Sundance Film Festival and other public programs connect audiences to artists in igniting new ideas, discovering original voices, and building a community dedicated to independent storytelling.
What We Love
Sundance provides advisory services to The Kendeda Fund as we support dramatic and documentary films moving through the Institute’s production process. As a premier hub of support for independent filmmakers, the Institute has an ideal vantage point to identify and support emergent filmmakers and the stories they are telling. The Institute’s programs and perspective keep it in a leadership role of advancing films and new media projects with the potential to transform how we see and know the world around us.
