Emerald Cities Collaborative is a national nonprofit network of organizations working together to advance a sustainable environment while creating economic opportunities for all. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the organization works in ten “Emerald Cities” nationwide. Local and national partners bring resources and expertise from the community, labor, business, and government sectors.
What We Love
Emerald Cities Collaborative is dedicated to moving the energy efficiency market in US cities using strategies that are sustainable, high wage, and inclusive. The Collaborative helps cities and counties identify energy retrofit needs. In each location Emerald Cities negotiates community workforce and community benefit agreements that guarantee a certain percentage of local hires at a living wage.
Emerald Cities has stayed true to its guiding principles of building green cities, supporting communities, and strengthening democracy by creating new sustainable jobs.
